I've created this parameter in order to trace products which are literally the same thing but sold under different labels, usually through the practice of private labelling.
If it's possible I would add the property to the "private labelled" product, linking it to the product produced by the manufacturer and sold under their own brand, using its barcode as a parameter
for example
The product "Choco crusties" is actually produced by the manufaturer Fuchs and sold under own brand and named "Choco crumpies"
Same form, same nutritional value, most proably same formulation, ingredients, machinery, possibly different prices.
Under the product choco crusties I add a folksonomy property "same_product" with value 8009361055089
