Hunger Games is an effort to leverage the results of the OCR in a game/tool that's easy to use and mildly addictive.

Hunger Games is a collection of mini-games that help contribute to Open Food Facts in many ways. You can play are really exciting games from anywhere. Here is a guided tour of the entire website which will get you started. Make sure to login to the Open Food Facts website to get credit for your contributions. If you make a mistake, please take the time to correct it by heading to the website. In case of any doubt about the games, click on the question mark icon at the top right of the page, and you can reach us on slack at the #hunger-games channel

Available mini-games

  • Labels, Brands Weight and Categories games (Yes/No questions)
  • Logos and Labels visual game (Annotate similar logos): Logo Annotation Guidelines (Please read the guidelines and be careful)

Beta mini-games

  • Nutrition table annotation game
  • Ingredient spellcheck game
  • Ingredient extraction game

  • Welcome screen to set expectations and guidelines
  • Support for undoing last action (or committing it after answering one more question)

Logos and labels

  • Autocomplete for the Logos and Labels games (to avoid mistakes)
  • Filter the logo game by facets (to do targeted training by country, label, brand…)

Other

  • Bind the nutrition table annotation game to the prediction engine once it's deployed
  • Finish and promote the ingredient spellcheck and extraction games
