This page attempts to improve the Open Products Facts Taxonomies and understand the additional taxonomies we will need.
Categories
- UNSPSC and GPC files within the Open Food Facts drive
- UNSPSC is a taxonomy made by the UN and GS1 (around 20k categories)
- GPC is supposedly the successor of that, but it's a bit more complex to grasp
Others
- Please note that we will use Folksonomy Engine/How to use it on Open Products Facts, and some things might not really require a taxonomy (just a property and free text). Given the sheer amount of work, wanting a taxonomy for everything might proove foolish and illusive. Please also see Fields ideas for Open Products Facts
