Sub-sites for countries

Old design (before January 10th 2014)

One sub-domain per language.

e.g.

One sub-domain per country + one "world" sub-domain.

e.g.

Taxonomies

Features

  • A global hierarchy / taxonomy for each type of data field (categories, brands, labels, countries etc.)
  • Translations for every language of each field value
  • Multiple synonyms for each field value in each language

Translation work

  • Get the strings to translate in a po file, so that we can use standard translation tools (GetText, PoEdit, Launchpad, Pootle)
  • Get external translators on board (the Launchpad team could translate everything within weeks in many languages)
