What?

A grant to support a punctual action to promote the Open Food Facts project (as opposed to longer term Community Project Grants)

Suggestions:

  • events: presentation of Open Food Facts at an event, promotion of Open Food Facts (distribution of flyers, scan party, organize a local meetup, etc.)
  • meeting: with a producer to persuade them to pass on their data.

What do we fund?

  • expenses only: travel, meals, supplies (flyers, refreshments, t-shirts, etc.)
  • The action is carried out on a voluntary basis. We cannot fund working time.

Amount and distribution

  • up to 200€. If you think your project requires more funds, you can still apply and we can discuss it.  
  • Via bank or electronic transfer (SEPA, Paypal, Stripe…) upon receiving the expense receipts.

Who can apply

  • Individuals (adult)
  • Organization with legal existence
  • From any country

How to apply

  • Describe your project: what you plan to do, why you need funding, goals, links etc.

Selection criterias

  • Open Food Facts is clearly presented (in other words, the action and funds are not used to promote another organization/company/service.)
  • It is useful for Open Food Facts’ development.

Application Dates

  • You can apply at any time.

Timeline

  • Application via this Rapid Grant form.
  • Response from Open Food Facts team (within 2 weeks).
  • If accepted, one quick video call to organise things.
  • Activity is carried out.
  • End-of-mission feedback (written or in a call).
  • Reimbursement of costs after the action, upon receiving the receipts (within 2 weeks).

Reporting/accountability

  • At least one meeting with the team before spending any money.
  • You must provide invoices: it must show amount, date (optionally name).
  • Any kind of report or illustration of your work: few photos, if possible, blog post (better), etc.

Support from OFF

  • Ready-to-use assets: presentations (see Communication Team, Partnerships Team), …
  • Available point of contact from the OFF team to help you brainstorm or brief you on a specific subject.
