We have a new system to translate taxonomies directly on the web site. To access it, just go to a page that lists some tags (categories, labels) like the one for categories in German: https://de.openfoodfacts.org/categories and then add ?translate=add to the url like this:
https://de.openfoodfacts.org/categories?translate=add
It will show a list of the categories that are not yet translated to German, and you can type in a translation. Just click on save, and that's it.
Benefits of this new method to translate taxonomies:
1. no need to go to the wiki, load a huge list etc.
2. you see instantaneously the list of entries that have no translation in the language that interests you
3. the list is sorted by the number of products: you can prioritize the translations to first translate the entries that are on a lot of products
4. there is a link to the actual products that have this category, label etc. -> that can be very useful to understand what kind of products we are talking about, and also to see how the category etc. is written on the actual products.
5. you can add the &translate=add to any page that lists tags, so you can filter it by country, by any other facet etc.
If you want to see the list of entries that have pending translations, you can add &translate=review
And if you want to see both the list of entries to be translated and with pending translations, you can add &translate=edit (useful if you made a mistake and want to change a translation)
Here is what it looks like:
